The Club’s match record was convincingly broken in the first of the 4hr Tuesday evening sweepstakes held on the Gt. Pond yesterday. Derek Jackson was the man in charge catching 47lbs 5ozs of tench, bream and roach, all of which were in excellent condition, fishing no further than 5ft from the bank with single caster.

While such weights are not uncommon at commercial fisheries they’re almost unknown at silver fisheries, especially in the area, which is a great indication of the potential of the ponds at Ravenfield and adds weight to the principle of supplementary feeding.
