500 new tench for the Old Stock Pond
During the last week the Club has taken delivery of 500, 2.5 to 6 inch long tench which have been supplied by the Environment Agency’s Calverton Fish Farm. Each year if required the Club provides the Farm with brood stock for its national fish rearing programme and some, if any surplus stock that arises, is offered to the club as a thank you. (see also previous other posts).
All the fish were stocked into the recently netted Old Stock Pond where they will be left to grown on and hopefully reproduce and provide the complex with a supply of fish for the future.
