The Kingfisher is filling up
Work on the Kingfisher Pond has now finished. Excavation of the leak began almost two weeks ago and throughout this period volunterers were on hand to assist in the operation. It was cold, wet, and dirty work, on days working until dark with sludge and clay making wellingtons and boots feel like lead and covering clothes from head to foot. More often than not the weather didn’t help either with rain on most days. But now the work is almost complete, the margins have been planted and the water level is rising, within a day or two the pond will be full again.
The Club’s thanks must go to Pete, the digger driver, to Keith, and to a small handful of dedicated committee men, Ken, Dennis, Dave and Graham, without who’s efforts the job would not have been possible.
The Pond part full.
