Now that the Winter League has finished anglers can look forward to a new range of competitions.

The new Wednesday series has begun on Bircliffe Pond with two matches having already been fished. Ten anglers fished each one, the first being won by Harry Booth with 13lbs from peg 14 while the latter was won by Ray Hamshaw from the other end of the pond at peg 2 with 18lbs 2ozs. The Tuesday evening series will begin week commencing 25th May on the Gt. Pond. these matches will draw at 4.00 p.m. and fish 5.00 ’til 9.00. For the first time these matches will be open to none members in an attempt to boost the numbers fishing. Harry Booth has all the details.

And finally the summer Saturday matches have commenced at Baker’s. These are designed for those that can’t get up, with the draw at 10.00, fishing 11.00 ’til 16.00. No need to book just turn up on the day.
