Over the winter the K&DAA rebuilt 30 platforms on the ‘Corus’ field from peg 40 onwards, and these are now accessible by car with parking behind each one!!! Access is via Carlisle St. and over the canal/railway bridge. Initial results from this stretch certainly look promising with one angler landing 130+ fish. Catches have included predominantly roach but also bream to 5lbs, chub, the odd barbel and some massive perch of all things. A three year plan is in hand to eliminate the balsam and knotweed that infest the area in the summer.
