Baker’s is getting another facelift
Kilnhurst and District AA, together with the Environment Agency have recently embarked on another major exercise to improve facilities, including disabled access, at Baker’s Pond. As part of this latest exercise every peg on the Anklebreaker bank has been rebuilt to make them bigger and wider and the work has been complemented by improvements to the path in order to make both the path and pegs suitable for wheelchair use.
Access has also been improved on the other bank where a new footpath has been laid to link each peg with the car park and steps are currently being built for better access to the pegs. And finally areas which were previously only slag have been top soiled and are awaiting raking and seeding.
