Another first for the Park

In recent years, and for the first time in living memory, a pair of swans have been seen in the Park. For a while they were just temporary visitors, nesting on the nearby Firsby Reservoir which is designated a Nature Reserve.

This year however, following numerous instances of persecution at Firsby, they have decided that Ravenfield is a better bet. See photo. At the moment they have two eggs and we can only hope that they will be able to raise them successfully under the watchful eyes of anglers, and if so we can truly say that we are the real guardians of the water environment.
