A bonus for the Club
Some time ago the Club put forward a proposal to the Tesco Bags of Help scheme to improve and repair sections of the concessionary footpath in the Park, including reinstating the old stone bridge below Bircliff Pond and renewing sections of fencing alongside the footpath.
We were told some weeks ago that the proposal had been accepted and that it would be voted on by the public in stores in Rotherham.
We’re pleased to say that we have just heard that the proposal was successful in gaining £8,000 of grant funding. As soon as we have rec’d the cheque a team from the Community Payback Scheme will commence work repairing broken steps, relaying new sections of pathway, repairing the bridge and renewing fencing. The photograph below shows volunteers working to clear one of the sections which will receive attention.
We’ll keep you advised of progess in due course.
