Uneven bottom……..(lake silly!)
How many times have you plumbed up in a spot only to find that if you move a yard to the right or left it’s not as deep, and then wondered if you’ve made a mistake?
Draining the Kingfisher has proved that this is not a mistake but is in fact true, for in fact in front of all the pegs on the stream side there is a depression which has filled with water making them easy to see. Why this should be remains a mystery. Could it be caused by anglers continually dragging their baits in, or by fish feeding baited spots and disturbing the bottom, or by constant groundbaiting? Do fish congregate in these areas waiting for food, or avoid them ‘cos they might get caught?
Any views?
