Kilnhurst and District AA’s new stretch of the river Don (link to K&DAA extend access to river Don, also in News) got off to a flying start when anglers were allowed on the bank for the first time. Less than two weeks after the opening day Wath angler Phil Keeling had one of the best ever catches ever witnessed from the river. Fishing a waggler in 10 feet of water with either maggots or sweet corn for bait Phil found a series of excellent bream to 5lbs plus some heavyweight chub for a 50lbs plus net.
