For as long as anglers can remember peg numbers in the high 70’s and low 80’s on the hillside of the Great Pond have had poor drainage with the result that in wet conditions they were often water logged. Previous efforts to resolve the problem using wooden platforms were only partly successful and thereforea new initiative has been completed which will hopefully resolve the situation. A series of 15 french drains have been dug along the bank to drain water from the hillside into the pond. In addition new recycled non slip platforms have been used to replace the old wooden ones making the pegs much more accessible. This Spring, when the bank grasses over, should see a massive improvement.
